Jordan Cook, Junior Interior Designer

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

Hi! I’m Jordan, a junior interior designer at Neighbor Interiors. I grew up in Southlake, Texas, and have watched it grow and flourish to the wonderful place it is today. My husband, Tim, and I moved frequently early on in our marriage, but decided to put down roots in Southlake three years ago to raise our children around family in a community we love. I am a busy mom of three amazing children: Greyson (7), Walker (5), and Charlotte (3). I love being a mom and spending time together as an active family.

What inspired you to join the team?

I met April and Adam while we were living in Houston, Texas. I worked alongside April to renovate our home in Southlake after moving back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I was inspired by Neighbor’s passion and love for making a house into a home that is functional for every client’s specific needs. Their love of design and vision for exploring how a client lives in their home was what drew me to be a part of their team. When working on my own home, I realized that I share their passion for livable design for my young family.

What inspires you in interior design?

When working on a project, I am inspired by finding unique ways to bring out a client's personality and elevate the design specific to their life. Whether it’s a statement piece of furniture, patterned wallpaper, or simply incorporating original wood floors, your home tells a story about you and your family. I love creating one-of-a-kind ways to give a wow factor!

What are some of your favorite design trends?

Some of my favorite trends lately include mixing patterns and combining colors and textures. For example, stripes on stripes, textured furniture, and the use of color in a bold way.

What are your favorite things about living in Southlake?

One of my favorite things about Southlake’s small-town feel is that many businesses have been here 20+ years! It’s fun to still visit the same places I grew up going to in town. For example, Feedstore BBQ, Sushi Sams, and even KC Tailor for all of your tailoring needs! They created my prom dresses, and now my family visits them for our altering. I frequent Sample House for speciality gifts, and have enjoyed welcoming the new Saint Bernard and Jane Coffee and Cocktail Bar to town!
